Happy New Year! We are officially in 2024. I can’t believe it.
Before I start telling you all the fun events I will be a part of this month and our 2023 recap. Can we chat for a little bit:
Who else is up in their feelings right now as we start the new year? TBH…I am alll up in my feelings.. I’ve been in them since last month. It’s partly why it has taken me a month to write a newsletter— like my friend B was saying the other day “life be lifeing.” There are many goals I didn’t accomplish, an expanding TBR shelf that is gathering dust, and endless worrying about the future. I had to deal with health issues that increased my anxiety to the point that my body and mind shut down. I felt lost, tired, and hid from the world.
I realized I put myself last! Raise your hand if this sounds familiar.
✋🏻Not taking care of myself and ignoring what’s happening internally.
✋🏻 The negative inner dialogue is annoying as hell!!
I am not perfect and that’s why the practice of yoga is not something you do for a short amount of time. It is a lifelong practice of finding balance in this chaotic energy-drained world we live in. BTW because I am a meditation teacher and yoga educator, we teachers tend to forget the tools we teach and not use them when we need them the most… for ourselves in the darkest times.
So for the New Year, my goal is the following:
Take each day one at a time
Meditate daily
Move the body
Hydrate
Find at least one micrcojoy of the day as a practice to stay present at the moment
I would love to hear your goals, insights or anything you would like to share for 2024.
